Back in 2008, the cost of disposing of the water I collected was becoming very expensive, as the water facility in Homebush was about to change from Government operated to a private company. I asked the facility how I could reduce the disposal fees, and they replied to take out the heavy material from the water, which was concrete slurry. I started searching for water treatment companies and Qtech was 1 of 4 companies I phoned. I needed a plant that was small and Mobile, as where I was renting at the time wasn’t a permanent position. Max, the owner of Qtech was just starting out too, but was very switched on about water treatment. We hit it off and Qtech has been helping me with every move and expansion ever since. Qtech built my latest plant in 2021. It is completely automated and feeds the treated water directly into a Sydney Water connection. The current plant has processed close to 1 million litres and I haven’t had an issue with it yet. I have also engaged Qtech to do the Sydney Water required testing and it has made running the water plant very easy. I would recommend Qtech to any size company that needs a system to look after their water waste.

Before engaging Qtech, we struggled with getting our wastewater within Water Corp parameters. We used water as a form of dilution, which was labour intensive and not the best practice. We wanted to upgrade our WWTP to drive our trade waste results down (cost) and get within parameters for suspended solids, oil & grease, COD, and BOD. The first trade waste results using the new DAF were actually higher than before, but Qtech was able to remotely dial into the system and make changes to the dosing. Since then, our most recent trade waste results have been lower than when we used the old method. Our suspended solids and oil & grease results have been the lowest ever, and BOD & COD are now within Water Corp parameters. The reduction in labour time has been massive—compared to the old method, simply turning on the new DAF has freed up our operator to focus on other duties. I’ve already recommended Qtech to other parts of my company.
